How to get the most out of puzzles
- Look at the position for a full minute before moving. List every check, capture and threat — for both sides.
- Solve it in your head first, then play it on the board. The goal is calculation, not trial and error.
- If you get it wrong, read the explanation and name the pattern. Naming it is what makes it easier to spot in your own games.
- A few puzzles every day beat a long session once a week.
